1. Who are the Gorkhas? – Background & Identity

  • Gorkhas are ethnic groups originally from Nepal.

  • Also settled in India in areas like:

    • Darjeeling (West Bengal)

    • Uttarakhand

    • Sikkim

    • Assam

  • Speak Nepali language.

  • Strong martial tradition influenced by Guru Gorakhnath.
